American Prize Recognizes ACB Members in 2022 Awards Year

"The American Prize is a series of new, non-profit national competitions in the performing arts providing cash awards, professional adjudication and regional, national and international recognition for the best recorded performances by ensembles and individuals each year in the United States at the professional, college/university, church, community and secondary school levels. Administered by Hat City Music Theater, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Danbury, Connecticut, The American Prize was founded in 2009 and is awarded annually. The competitions of The American Prize are open to all U.S. citizens, whether living in this country or abroad, and to others currently living, working and/or studying in the United States of America, its protectorates and territories." 

 

On September 2022, National Winners:  COMPOSERS (Instrumental Chamber Music), 2022 were announced.  One of our members was recognized.

On July 29, 2022, National Winners: BANDS/WIND ENSEMBLES, 2022 were announced. Ine the community division, two of our members were recognized.

  • The American Prize winner: Plainville Wind Ensemble (Plainville, CT)  Ken Bagley, Conductor   
  • 3rd Place: Montgomery County Concert Band  (Lansdale, PA ) Charles H. Neidhardt, Conductor  

On June 17, 2022 National Winners:  COMPOSITION (band/wind ensemble) were announced. One of our members was recognized in the professional Division.

  • Finalist Honorable Mention: Gordon Ring (Farmville VA) Whistler Portraits

On June 3, 2022 National Finalists: BANDS/WIND ENSEMBLES were announced.  Two of our current members were recognized in the community division.

  • Plainville Wind Ensemble (Plainville, CT)  Ken Bagley, Conductor   
  • Montgomery County Concert Band  (Lansdale, PA ) Charles H. Neidhardt, Conductor  

On April 29, 2022 National Finalists: COMPOSERS (instrumental chamber music) were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the professional division.

On April 14, 2022 National Finalist—COMPOSERS (music for band),  were named.  One of members was recognized in the professional division.

On April 1, 2022, National Finalists: COMPOSERS (vocal chamber music) were named.  One of our members was recognized in the professional division. 

On January 31, 2022 and revised on March 1, 2022 Semi-finalists: COMPOSERS (instrumental chamber music)  for 2022 were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the professional division for multiple compositions. 

  • Edward David Messerschmidt (Poughkeepsie NY)  

    • Regret (for string trio)
    • Solitary (for solo trombone)
    • Fantasia for Horn and Piano

On February 17, 2022 Semi-finalists:  Band/Wind Ensemble Performance for 2022 were announced. Three of our member bands were recognized in the community division.

  • Montgomery County Concert Band  (Lansdale, PA ) Charles H. Neidhardt, Conductor   
  • Woodlands Concert Band (Spring, TX) Paul J. Worosello, conductor

On January 28, 2022 the Semi-finalists: COMPOSERS (vocal chamber music) for 2022 were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the Professional division.

On January 24, 2022 the Semi-finalists: COMPOSERS (orchestra music) for 2022 were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the Professional division.

On January 21, 2022 the Semi-finalists: COMPOSERS (band/wind ensemble) for  2022 were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the Professional division.

On December 29, 2021 the Semi-finalists: VIRTUAL PERFORMANCE (performing together) for 2021-22 were announced.  One of our members was recognized in the professional division.
