ACB COVID-19 Resources PageWe’re all in uncharted territory, navigating the new challenges of COVID-19 in our personal lives and with our band family. ACB has some new options to help with this journey.
NEW “COVID-19 and Bands” ForumConcerts and rehearsals have been cancelled, challenging many bands to use video conferencing applications such as Zoom, Google Hangouts, or Skype to keep people connected. If your band has experiences with these platforms, other ideas, or concerns to share, we welcome you to share these with others in the new COVID-19 and Bands Forum, established for discussion of the issues facing bands during and after COVID-19. This website forum is accessible by both ACB members and non-members. For information on the Forum, click on: COVID-19 and Bands Virtual Opportunities WebpageMany virtual opportunities for playing and learning music have arisen. Some are hosted by ACB Members, such as The Lonestar Symphonic Wind Orchestra (Performance opportunity) and the DunedIn Concert Band (Online workshop). Others include Keith Kelly's "The Global Bandroom Podcast" and Harry Watters online warm-up lessons. For details on these and more, visit the new: Virtual Opportunities webpage.
“Shelter in Play(ss) List” - NAXOS Music LibraryEnjoy the restorative power of music with the NAXOS Music Library. It’s free with your ACB (Student, Individual, Family and Life Members) membership. Tom Rotondi, our Service Committee Chair, created a playlist of orchestral and band music called, “Shelter in Play(ce) List.” Other playlists by NAXOS and ACB are also available. For information about the NAXOS benefit, how to acquire your username/password, or for an instructional video, visit our NAXOS Music Library webpage .
Collection of Resources about COVID-19A compilation of links of information shared through our forum and other means. Music brings us together and joins us even when we are apart, until the time we can meet together again.
